Jetboy, this is a total work-around that I've found works when we want to place an image into the .png to be painted. I assume the next-gen version of Colors! DS will not need such a work-around. If you have an image editing program such as Adobe Photoshop it's easy to do this. Without it I'm not sure. Anyway, here it is.
The iPod/iPhone png is 440x320 ppi whereas the DS Lite is 512x384 ppi. Open both files in Photoshop. Duplicate the layer of the source file (iPod/iPhone png) to the destination file the (DS Lite png). Use the Scale Tool to scale the source image to the approximate the size you want and, save your file to the Colors folder. Otherwise you'll get a border around your painting. That may be a desirable thing in some instances but, not in others. However you orient your device of choice even when scaled up flush to the edges, the dimensions of the iPod/iPhone png and the DS Lite png are not exact so there will be some dead space on either the right and left or, the top and bottom of the canvas. I for one will be glad to not have to use this work-around when the next-gen version becomes available. Thank you, Kasumi for suggesting this. Here' s the link where he/she told me about it.
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=976This is similar to placing an appropriately named, scaled, and pre-drawn art onto a png file and painting over it within Colors! DS. The only draw back is needing an image editing software to do this.
