Hye.
As DSi doesn't support pressure sensitivity, why not using the DSi's volume/brigthness button to affect opacity and brush-size??
Love your soft :)

i don't think it is possible for a program to know what is the value/state of the volume button. it's only a potentiometer

That's something I've been wishing for since I started. The ability to load a separate image into the top screen. The way I do it now is to load the image I want to draw onto my iPhone and then rest my iPhone over the top screen. Gets to be a bit of a pain when trying to use the buttons on the DS though.

On the DSi, the volume button doesn't seem to be a potentiometer, but a 2in1 button, one for the "+", the other for the "-".
The button is used by the DSi to affect the brightness of the DSi separately from the sound, so I think a program could use this button :)

I'm not sure if sdk allows acess to that button to reprogram it, but if it does it would be wise move to use it.
I'll tell Jens to investigate that.

Nooooooooo!!!!! :custom4:
You tell Jens to get 1.1 out PRONTO!
No adding of new features or we're off for another months-long delay!!

(of course, jetboy, feel free to send me a copy of your pre-release version and then go right ahead....)

+1
we're waiting the ds update version for so long time and there is no information about its advancement, if we wait each new features to be add, we will never see the v1.1 release.
why don't release the v1.1 and add other features for other versions (v1.2 for example)?

all this is very frustrating you know....

Hi,

OK, no nagging for the new release this time.

However.... it's been more than one month since ahahah inquired about the status of the 1.1 release. It's been more than 2 months since we heard a peep out of the project. And then it was a terse "It's not stopped. However i can't give you any dates"

Now, I can of course understand that Jens,Jetboy and the rest of the crew have a life too and that planning will only take one so far.
I also appreciate all the hard work that already went into the current release, which is still working great and will continue to do so for as long as the DS/ DSi is alive.

What does irk me a bit is the lack of communication regarding the development. Even though this is not an open-source product, last year's pre-announcement of v1.1 has created quite a stir in the community. I would therefore respectfully ask Jens or Jetboy to be a bit more forward about the status of things.... Just a monthly update to see where in the release cycle we are. Even if there is no progress, stating so will at least provide SOME information.

On the other hand, if the focus is completely gone from the DS and all resources are now looking at improving the IPhone/IPad product, then please come out and tell this as well.

All we want (well, all I want...) is a little feedback, a high level roadmap and maybe a teaser screenshot or two....
Surely this is not too much to ask from what is just about the most popular piece of homebrew yet?

Respectully yours,
Michel Vilain
